Sketch 43 Beta was released March 8, 2017. In the release notes is a brief sentence that has huge implications: “We have a new file format which is more compact, and enables more powerful integrations for third-party developers”. This could really help Sketch fully transition into a platform with 3rd party plugins and tools that feel truly integrated vs. duct-taped on (or even outside the typical Sketch design flow as we know it today).
Many on Twitter have clued into this.
1) @sketchapp version 43 is gonna be awesome!
2) UX Power Tools has NO ISSUES running in v43.
3) JSON will make things verrrry interestingpic.twitter.com/YgKPZhRd7x
